Here is my 2 cents. On a stock engine , any plug recommended for the Zetec. For any engine that is modified. Go with the Copper Plugs. You dont see any high horse power engine builders using platinum or iridium. The newer elements used in plugs are for longevity, not performance.

Now when starting, the rev's hit their normal 1100-1200 rpm, but hang in there slightly longer than what they did last week. What suprises me more, is the weather recently has been hot, so why should the rev's hang about.
My 1.6 ford mondeo zetec 16v is sluggish the engine is fine there just no power when coming to hills get it too 3rd gear it slows right down you have to change back to 2nd also when stoped at junctions or traffic lights it just feels like it want to stall can u help please i dont know what it is. Just sold my punto and bought a Focus 1.6 zetec 16v 1999, never had one of these before, so excuse all my questions. When I start the car, it revs it self and settles down but revs are high, I have bought a new air filter, and carb cleaner, i am wanting to take sensors and air control valve and b Been looking into it in more detail and it would seem my engine is a SE model. My car handbook says that the only 1.6 engine available for my model was a SE and there is no mention of the S. I also spoke to someone that works for ford who told me.. There isnt any difference. Re: Ford Fokus 1.6 16v Zetec se problem. Sto ventile na obradu, ako vec otvaras stavi nove. A sto se karika tice, najbolje ces videti kad otvoris motor, ovako na slepo je bajanje u pasulj. Mozda je u fabrickim tolerancijama a mozda i ne valjaju. Da sam na tvom mestu svakako bi ih zamenio kad vec otvaras. .
