On the D3100, D5100, and D7000, Nikon placed a rather low video recording time limit for a single clip. Currently, it's somewhere in the area of ten or 20 minutes, depending on the model.
It is possible to use the Nikon D3500 as a webcam for Zoom or Skype meetings or for real-time video capture to a computer for recording how-to video tutorials. But it’s not an ideal choice for it, mainly because of a hard-coded maximum 30-minute time-out for the camera’s Live View function.

On 1080p 60 FPS footage, there is a limit of 10 minutes per recording, so we can only record for about 10 minutes before we have to start a new recording. It will automatically shut the video off when it ends. For 30 FPS and 24 FPS in 720p, we can record for 20 minutes, and 424p will record for 30 minutes. Time limits are a disadvantage to Nikon.
